A state representative trying to get a satellite law school in the Rio Grande Valley will meet next month with officials from the University of Houston Law Center.

Rep. Roberto Gutierrez, D-McAllen, is trying to salvage a new law program proposed for the University of Texas Pan-American in Edinburg. A plan for Texas Tech University School of Law to run the program died because of opposition from Sen. Robert Duncan, R-Lubbock.
