A federal jury on Tuesday awarded $300,000 to the plaintiff in a whistleblower suit against the Coatesville Area School District. The plaintiff said she was harassed and demoted after she exposed financial improprieties to state auditors and gave a truthful deposition in a secretary’s sexual harassment case.

In its verdict, the jury found that five school district officials violated the rights of Eva Andrew, the district’s former Director of Human Resources. Andrew was awarded $200,000 in compensatory damages and $100,000 in punitive damages.
