Two Philadelphia lawyers on Friday filed papers in U.S. District Court in Seattle, Wash., seeking to block court approval of a proposed $15 million settlement of a class-action race discrimination suit against the Boeing Co.

Attorneys Alan B. Epstein and Scott A. Burr of Jablon Epstein, who filed a similar proposed class action here in Philadelphia, argue that the Seattle settlement “is clearly unfair and its approval would set an unparalleled and dangerous precedent permitting greedy and scheming plaintiffs’ counsel and employers to effect unjust dispositions on unsuspecting and uncountable numbers of minority workers for their own gain and benefit.”
