CBS has wagered the most with "Judging Amy" and "Family Law." NBC puts up a spin-off in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and offers "West Wing," a snappy view of the law, politics, and personalities of the presidential inner circle.

Two of the best from Kelley’s ample television stable snagged statues during awards season, and no network programmers missed the connection. Viewers may have long since tired of O.J. and the bloom may be off Court TV’s flower, but “Ally McBeal” and “The Practice” confirmed there are ratings, if not a lot of lawyering, in legal drama.
