California's Supreme Court unanimously upheld the right of prosecutors to introduce evidence about sex offenders' secrets. Prosecutors got the OK from the state high court to present evidence about a defendant's history of sex crimes to jurors hearing sex offense cases. At issue was the constitutionality of a law allowing propensity evidence in sex offense cases. The court upheld the law by pointing out the discretion of a trial court to exclude prejudicial evidence is sufficient to ensure due process.
