Had his mother’s case against the U.S. Government proceeded, Richard Jewell would have signed a waiver releasing FBI information about its investigation of the former security guard, his lawyer says.

But Barbara A. Jewell settled her case recently for $2,500 and now attorney L. Lin Wood Jr. sees no reason why his client should sign such a waiver.
