During a routine forfeiture hearing, Philadelphia trial court Judge Barbara Joseph called for the sheriff to place Assistant D.A. Fern Kletter into custody. The order came after Kletter, a 13-year veteran of the office, declined to settle the case before the court. "It is intemperate, disrespectful and undignified for a judge to threaten a district attorney," said D.A. Lynne Abraham. "In my eight years, I have never set foot in a courtroom to object to a judge acting in an improper manner until now."
