A loose band of plugged-in L.A. associates has formed a new online club after the leader of the “L.A. Greedy Associates” Web site apparently booted out members after their postings strayed from the chat site’s focus on money. To emphasize the difference, the breakaway site, which opened last week under the name “Real Greedy L.A. Associates,” included “uncensored” in its title. Yet another spin-off site, “Deleted Greedy Associates,” also went up last week. Word has it that associates with online pseudonymssuch as Happy Worker Bee and Arnie Becker were drummed out of the original site for advertising commercial ventures or having the audacity to bring up dating problems. But other messages on the various greed-related sites are pointing to a more fundamental problem: Now that many large firms have announced their latest salary structures, there’s currently not much for the mouse-clicking money-grubbers to speculate about.
