Jurors in Pennsylvania may soon be able to take notes during a civil trial if a proposed amendment to Pennsylvania Rule of Civil Procedure is put in place. The rules committee says allowing jurors to take notes during civil trials may speed up some of the deliberations, and that jurors would have better recall of cases. But many lawyers argue that cases should be tried in the same manner civil cases have always been tried: jurors listening and watching instead of buried in note-taking.
