Two large professional football players are being sued for $6.3 million by three police officers and two patrons of a bar as a result of a brawl the athletes were involved in earlier this month. William “Jumbo” Elliott, an offensive lineman with the New York Jets, and Matt O’Dwyer, who plays the same position with the Cincinnati Bengals, allegedly punched two bar patrons, urinated in the sink of a women’s bathroom, and kicked out the window of a police cruiser. Elliott reportedly punched an18-year old woman in the chest and a man in the face during the fight; they are two of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit. Elliott was not, thankfully, penalized for face-masking or using the outlawed head-slap technique. And, luckily for him, the league won’t reintroduce instant replay until next season.
