A Bronx man's suit against the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York and its leader Cardinal John O'Connor for injury he allegedly sustained when sexually molested by a priest has been pared of its emotional distress, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud claims. But a Manhattan judge in Guzman v. Mills has allowed the man's claim for negligent retention and supervision of the priest to go forward. The justice denied Cardinal O'Connor's motion for summary judgment on the one surviving count.
