Same-sex partners’ hopes of sharing parental rights are looking bleaker now that another common pleas court judge has denied a couple’s petition to adopt.

One partner in the case is the legal adoptive parent of the two children living with the couple, but the other will not be able to enjoy those legal rights because the men are not considered married under Pennsylvania law, the judge ruled.
