Creating one of the nation’s few firm-sponsored public interest fellowships, the Tampa, Florida-based Holland & Knight has established the Chesterfield Smith Community Service Fellowship. Holland & Knight will select three law school graduates to be Smith Fellows for two years while being associates of the firm. They will work for the Center for Public Representation in Boston, the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center Inc. in Miami, and the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington, D.C. After two years, the fellows will start work at the firm as associates. Holland & Knight said the fellows will receive the same pay, benefits and partnership opportunities as other associates.
