But this loss -- before the Second District Court of Appeal -- might cost more than a game in the standings. In fact, it may cost several professional sports franchises some money, and that's why the Major League Baseball Player Relations Committee and the National Football League Management Council filed amicus curiae briefs on behalf of the team.
