A Fulton judge on Thursday ordered a new trial for two Alpharetta brothersconvicted in January of using a “date rape drug” to sexually assault aGeorgia State University student.

In ordering the retrial of Timothy D. and Kenneth Lee Iverson, SuperiorCourt Judge Wendy L. Shoob cited mistakes by defense counsel, state’switnesses and even herself. The brothers went to trial accused of usingGHB, or gamma hydroxy butyric acid, to subdue the then-19-year-old womanso they could sexually assault her.
