AlliedSignal Inc.’s top legal officer, Peter M. Kreindler, will remain general counsel when the firm merges with Honeywell Inc. Honeywell’s top legal officer, Edward D. Grayson, will work on the integration team, but he has not determined whether he will remain once that process is completed.

The new firm, which will be called Honeywell and will have its headquarters at AlliedSignal’s Morristown, N.J., base, will also pare away an undetermined number of in-house attorneys, Mr. Kreindler said.
