The battle over an American Bar Association commission’s recommendationto allow lawyers to form partnerships with nonlegal professionals willbe fought in Atlanta starting Aug. 8.

In a unanimous vote Tuesday, the 12-member commission urged the ABA tochange its rules and allow fee-sharing between lawyers and other ownersof multidisciplinary practices, and to apply legal ethics rules and courtregulation to such pairings.
