A dispute over a retirement agreement has prompted a former managing parter at New York’s now-defunct Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine to sue 30 of his former partners. Gordon Osmond, a onetime corporate partner who retired in 1995 after 35 years with the firm, claims his ex-colleagues breached his two-page retirement agreement when they suspended his monthly payments in February 1998. A few months later, Donovan Leisure — once a prestigious antitrust litigation firm — went out of business in the wake of a failed merger with San Francisco’s Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. Osmond’s suit, filed in Manhattan State Supreme Court, seeks $1.2 million in unpaid retirement benefits.
