For 55 long, brutal years, WWII veteran Henry Harris has battled the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Harris’ war with the U.S. military began in May 1944. While on a work detail a load of logs fell on him, cutting off the end of his penis. Since the local military hospital had a “whites only” policy, Harris, who is black, was left by the side of the road.
