CIGNA Corp. has been hit with a class action ERISA suit brought by members of its HMO programs who claim they were never told about the numerous restrictions imposed on their primary care doctors that are designed to discourage referrals to specialists.

Attorneys H. Laddie Montague, Jerome M. Marcus and Jonathan Auerbach of Berger & Montague filed the suit on behalf of anyone who subscribed to a CIGNA-operated HMO since December 1993.
