A police officer can receive benefits under the Heart and Lung Act for injuries he suffered when he fell on his way back to his patrol car after a lunch break, the Commonwealth Court has ruled.
The Pennsylvania State Police argued that Thomas McLaughlin was not on duty when he fell, but the court said as soon as he finished eating, McLaughlin was back on the job.
