Taylor Pro Bono awards. Each year, Young Conaway honors two attorneys for their pro bono service. Elected and Appointed Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis attorney Dennis R. Supleewas elected president of the International Academy of Trial Lawyersby its board of directors at its annual meeting in Key Biscayne, Fla., March 26. Chartered in 1954, the academy’s purposes are to promote reforms in the law, improve the administration of justice and elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession. Suplee served as chairman of Schnader Harrison from 1992-98, and has handled a wide range of civil litigation including mass tort cases, complex antitrust litigation, CERLA contribution cases, patent infringement disputes and product liability cases. Announcements About 200 students and professors from Drexel’s College of Lawraised more than $14,000 to help finance legal work for needy citizens at the inaugural public interest auction. Proceeds from the April 3 event, held in Behrakis Grand Hall, will support grants that will help students defray living expenses as they complete unpaid public interest summer jobs. Susan Brooks, associate dean for experiential learning, said the event’s success reflects widespread support at the school for public interest work as well as a lot of hard work by students, faculty and staff.   Daniel P. Dwyer, an attorney with the West Chester law firm of Unruh Turner Burke & Frees,has been awarded the Master of Government Administration degree by the Fels Institute of State and Local Government at the University of Pennsylvania, where he focused on economic development issues. Dwyer counsels clients, both public and private, in construction, real estate, economic development and commercial matters. �
