Ropes & Gray hired longtime U.S. Department of Justice litigator Colleen Conry as a partner in its government enforcement group. Conry, who was previously senior litigation counsel in the fraud section of the Justice Department’s criminal division, will practice in Ropes & Gray’s Washington office. “She is a terrific addition to our dynamic group of experienced trial attorneys, and our clients will immediately benefit from her years of trial experience and her distinguished career in the Department of Justice,” said Joan McPhee, who co-chairs the government enforcement group at the Boston-based Ropes & Gray. During her 12-year tenure at the Justice Department, Conry participated in numerous banking trials. Her white-collar crime experience also includes prosecuting Joseph P. Nacchio, the former CEO of Qwest Communications International Inc., for insider trading, and of Richard Scrushy, the former CEO and chairman of HealthSouth Corp.
