Writing for an 8-3 majority, Chief Judge Alex Kozinski found that the housing Web site Roommates.com did not deserve immunity under the Communications Decency Act because the site actively created much of its own problematic content. In dissent, Judge M. Margaret McKeown protested an "unprecedented" expansion of liability for Internet proprietors.
