CADWALADER, WICKERSHAM & TAFT Two intellectual property litigators have joined Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft’s Washington office as special counsel in the firm’s intellectual property practice. Evelyn Heilbrunn, 52, focuses on patent litigation. Prior to joining Cadwalader, Heilbrunn was of counsel at Morgan & Finnegan. She earned her J.D. from Tulane University Law School. Kent Stevens, 49, concentrates on international trade aspects of intellectual property litigation. He was previously a partner at Morgan & Finnegan. He earned his J.D. from Drake University Law School and an LLM from Georgetown University Law Center.
FULBRIGHT & JAWORSKI Matthew Kirtland, 35, was promoted to partner in the international and domestic arbitration, white-collar civil and criminal defense, and complex civil litigation practice in the Washington office of Fullbright & Jaworski. He was previously a senior associate. He received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
HOLLAND & HART Kelly Johnson, 43, was promoted to Holland & Hart’s partnership. She focuses on government relations, natural resources, and environmental law in the firm’s Washington office. Previously, Johnson was of counsel at Holland & Hart. She earned her J.D. from Indiana University School of Law.
HOLLAND & KNIGHT John Irving IV, 37, has joined Holland & Knight’s Washington office as a senior counsel in the firm’s litigation practice. Irving was previously an assistant U.S. attorney in Washington. He earned his J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law.
LINOWES AND BLOCHER Charles Schaller, 46, has joined as a partner at Linowes and Blocher in the environmental law practice in the firm’s Annapolis, Md., office. Schaller was formerly a partner at Annapolis-based Schaller & Gorski. He earned his J.D. from Vermont Law School.
SIDLEY AUSTIN Two attorneys have joined Sidley Austin’s Washington office. Richard Klingler, 46, has rejoined the firm as a partner in the complex commercial litigation practice. Klingler left the firm in 2005 to serve in the Office of Counsel to the President as senior associate counsel. Klingler earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School. Jon Santamauro, 37, has joined the firm as counsel in the intellectual property and trade policy practice. He was previously a patent attorney at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Santamauro earned his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
SUTHERLAND ASBILL & BRENNAN Stephen Kranz, 41, has joined Sutherland Asbill & Brennan as counsel in its state and local tax group, after serving as general counsel for the Council on State Taxation. Kranz earned his J.D. from Drake University Law School.
THOMPSON HINE JC Miller, 43, has joined Thompson Hine as a partner in the firm’s labor and employment and business litigation practice. She was previously a partner with Saul Ewing. Miller earned her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
WHITEFORD, TAYLOR & PRESTON Jeffrey Seaman, 43, has joined Whiteford, Taylor & Preston as counsel in the firm’s litigation department in Washington. Prior to joining the firm, Seaman served as assistant general counsel at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. He earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law. — W.J.
