Elected and Appointed Timothy J. Mayopoulos, executive vice president and general counsel at Bank of America Corp.,will serve as chair of the National Legal Aid & Defender Associationcorporate advisory committee. Mayopoulos succeeds Kenneth C. Frazier, executive vice president and president of Global Human Health and former executive vice president and general counsel at Merck & Co. Inc. Mayopoulos has been the executive vice president and general counsel of Bank of America Corp. since 2004. He has also been active in a variety of pro bono and diversity efforts. Prior to joining Bank of America, Mayopoulos held various legal positions in other global financial services companies, in private law practice and in public service.   Professor Rex Glensyhas been appointed director of the intellectual property concentration at Drexel University College of Law. Before coming to Drexel Law as a member of the inaugural faculty, Glensy had practiced entertainment and intellectual property matters with leading Los Angeles firms. John P. Quirke,an attorney in the Flemington, N.J., office of Archer & Greiner,has been named to the board of trustees of the Hunterdon County YMCA. Dolan Jr.has been elected chairman of the Radnor Township Zoning Hearing Board.The board is a quasi-judicial body that conducts legally binding hearings and renders decisions on appeals, variances and special exceptions to the township’s zoning ordinances. Dolan has served on the board since 2004. A member of the firm’s commercial litigation practice group, Dolan practices in the firm’s West Conshohocken office.   Announcement Alan W. Flenner , an attorney with High Swartzin Norristown, was promoted to the rank of captain in the U.S. Navy on March 1. Flenner is a Reserve Civil Engineer Corps officer assigned to the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Washington, D.C., as inspector general. NAVFAC is an Echelon II level command within the Navy responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of Navy and Marine Corps shore-based infrastructure. The mission of the NAVFAC inspector general is to act as the focal point for issues relating to NAVFAC’s integrity and efficiency. Detection and prevention of inefficiencies, mismanagement and wasteful and abusive practices are among the major functions performed by the inspector general. Other responsibilities include command self-assessments and inspections, special investigations, audits and management control. �
