Timothy J. Mayopoulos, executive vice president and general counsel at Bank of America Corporation, will chair The National Legal Aid & Defender Association’s Corporate Advisory Committee. “His passion and commitment to pro bono service are natural extensions of his work at Bank of America Corporation,” Jo-Ann Wallace, president and chief executive officer of the Washington, D.C.-based NLADA, said in a news release. “Tim’s motivation, exceptional professional experience, integrity and vision will no doubt solidify the important partnership between NLADA and the corporate legal community.” The NLADA Corporate Advisory Committee was founded in 1992 to institute corporate America’s commitment to equal justice and explore ways in which the corporate sector can help ensure the availability of legal representation to low-income people. Mayopoulos, who succeeds Kenneth C. Frazier, has been executive vice president and general counsel at Bank of America since 2004. Before that, he held various legal positions in other global financial services companies, as well is in private practice and public service.
