San Francisco employment and labor law firm Littler Mendelson has attracted four Birmingham, Ala., lawyers from Bradley Arant Rose & White to open a new branch of Littler in Birmingham. The newest office adds to the firm’s established southern exposure in Atlanta and Mobile and brings its national reach to 45 offices. Joining Littler in Birmingham are Jay St. Clair, Jim Alexander, Jim May and Stacey Bradford. St. Clair, who has practiced employment law for 24 years, will be managing shareholder in the office. “My colleagues and I are excited to join Littler, esteemed as the best labor and employment law firm in the country,” St. Clair said. St. Clair is an adjunct professor of labor law at the Cumberland School of Law and former chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Alabama State Bar. Alexander represents employers in arbitrations and frequently serves as a mediator. He advises employers on labor and employment law issues and litigates on the trial and appellate level. Bradford focuses on employment and ERISA litigation, and has handled cases involving discrimination, wage and hour issues, harassment and retaliation. May has practiced labor and employment law since 1980. His range of cases includes class action defense, wage and hour collective actions, ERISA and discrimination cases. “As a group, they are notable for their proven ability to provide clients with innovative solutions to labor and employment law challenges,” said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing shareholder of Littler Mendelson.
