BAKER BOTTS Robert Wagman Jr., 39, has been promoted to special counsel in Baker Botts’ Washington office. He practices in the litigation group. Wagman was previously an associate. He earned his J.D. at American University’s Washington College of Law.
CAPITAL LEGAL SEARCH Nicole Walter, 33, has joined Capital Legal Search as a senior recruiter. She was previously a bankruptcy associate in the Washington office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr. Walter earned her J.D. at George Washington University School of Law.
DICKSTEIN SHAPIRO Charles Ossola, 54, has joined Dickstein Shapiro as a partner in the firm’s Washington office. He is a litigator in the intellectual property practice. Ossola was previously a senior partner at Arnold & Porter. He earned his J.D. at Villanova University Law School.
MCDERMOTT WILL & EMERY Six associates in the Washington office of McDermott Will & Emery have been promoted to partner. Todd Castleton, 39, belongs to the employee benefits department. Castleton earned his J.D. at George Mason University School of Law. Anne Hance, 31, is a partner in the health law department. Hance received her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. Mark Opper, 31, belongs to the tax department. Opper received his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. Meredith Parker, 31, belongs to the trial department. Parker earned her J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law. David Rines, 39, belongs to the telecommunications group. Rines received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Athena Velie, 38, is a partner in the energy and derivatives market practice. Velie earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
MORRISON & FOERSTER Two attorneys in Morrison & Foerster’s Washington office and one in the Northern Virginia office have been promoted to partner. Brian Matsui, 35, is a partner in the appellate practice in the D.C. office. He was previously of counsel. Matsui earned his J.D. at Stanford University Law School. Andrew Smith, 42, is a partner in the financial services and privacy group in Washington. He was previously of counsel. Smith received his J.D. from the College of William & Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law. Erik Velapoldi, 37, is a partner in the corporate and securities group in the McLean, Va., office. He was previously of counsel. Velapoldi received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Koschmieder received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Stephen Kunin, 59, is a partner in the patent protection group. He was previously of counsel.
