Openness to tort litigation is making New Jersey a hostile environment for commerce, say the results of a survey of business and industry leaders.
The survey, conducted by Rutgers University Eagleton Institute of Politics, says 89 percent of respondents believe lawsuits are “driving up the cost of doing business in New Jersey,” while 25 percent have considered relocating out of state.
