New Associate Samuel Krasow Goldstein has joined Stradley Ronon Stevens & Youngas an associate in the firm’s investment management/mutual funds practice group. Based in the firm’s Philadelphia office, Goldstein focuses his practice on counseling investment companies and investment advisers in connection with various regulatory, compliance and transactional issues. Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Goldstein was an associate at Dechert, where he advised registered investment companies, unregistered funds, broker-dealers and investment advisers regarding federal and state securities laws. He earned a Master of Laws at Georgetown University Law Center, a Master of Business Administration at Temple University and a juris doctorate from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.   Elected and Appointed Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor-elect A. Michael Pratt has appointed James Eisenhower, an attorney with Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewisand chairman of the firm’s government and regulatory affairs practice group, to serve as the chairman and as a member of a special task force on public school funding. The task force � which was established by Jane Dalton, the bar association’s chancellor, and adopted by Pratt � is charged with investigating inadequate funding of public schools, reporting on ways to direct resources and promoting civics education.   Pepper Hamiltonpartner Maria A. Feeleyhas been elected to the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Board of Governors, and associate Matthew R. Williamshas been elected to the executive committee of the Young Lawyers Division. Feeley, a partner in Pepper Hamilton’s Philadelphia office, focuses her practice on complex business and commercial disputes, products liability, directors and officers liability, professional liability and malpractice claims, and insurance coverage disputes and bad faith lawsuits. Williams, an associate in Pepper Hamilton’s Philadelphia office, concentrates his practice in commercial litigation.   Leslie Beth Baskin, chairwoman of the creditors’ rights and bankruptcy group at Spector Gadon & Rosen, is president-elect of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Projectfor 2008. The organization provides pro bono legal representation to the indigent seeking to obtain the protection of bankruptcy court. Baskin has handled a wide array of bankruptcy-related cases, including several high -profile cases in the region. She has represented creditors in the American Appliance bankruptcy, doctor groups in the Allegheny Hospital bankruptcy, creditors in the Fleming bankruptcy and creditors in the K-Mart bankruptcy. She is a 1981 graduate of Temple University School of Law. �
