LATHAM & WATKINS Three associates in Latham & Watkins’ Washington office have been elected to the firm’s partnership. Patrick Shannon, 37, is currently an associate in the firm’s corporate department. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Joel Trotter, 36, is currently an associate in the corporate department. He earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Jeremiah Wolsk, 39, is currently an associate in the corporate department. He earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law.
OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA James Sandman will join the Office of the Attorney General as general counsel for the D.C. public schools. He is currently a partner in Arnold & Porter’s Washington office. Sandman, 56, earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
PILLSBURY WINTHROP SHAW PITTMAN Eight attorneys have been promoted in Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman’s D.C.-area offices. John Barton will be counsel in the firm’s D.C. global sourcing practice. He is currently a senior associate. Barton, 34, received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. George Borovas, 40, will be a partner in the firm’s D.C. energy practice. He is currently a senior associate. Borovas earned his J.D. at George Washington University Law School. Thomas deButts will be a partner in the firm’s D.C. international trade group. He is currently counsel. DeButts, 48, earned his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. Joshua Fitzhugh will be counsel in the international trade and public practices groups in the firm’s D.C. office. He is currently a senior associate. Fitzhugh, 37, received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Eric Hernandez will be a partner in the firm’s McLean, Va., intellectual property practice. He is currently counsel. Hernandez, 31, received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Jean-Paul Hoffman, 39, will be a partner in the firm’s McLean, Va., intellectual property practice. He is currently a senior associate. Hoffman earned his LL.M. at George Washington University Law School. Julia Judish, 39, will be counsel in the firm’s D.C. litigation group and its employment and labor groups. She is currently a senior associate. Judish earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School. Matthew MacLean will be a partner in the firm’s D.C. litigation group. He is currently a senior associate. MacLean, 33, received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
