BOSTON Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo is following the lead of numerous law firms with a new subprime practice group. More than two dozen attorneys from various offices and practice groups of the Boston-based firm will work on subprime matters with the group, including lawyers specializing in: litigation, securities, bankruptcy and restructuring, structured finance, governmental investigations, insurance coverage, white-collar crime, and real estate. Boston attorneys Richard Moche, who manages Mintz’s public finance section, and litigator Jack Sylvia will co-chair the group. There’s a growing demand from businesses and individuals for legal advice to help with the fallout from the collapse of the subprime market, said Moche. “By forming a dedicated subprime practice group, we are bringing to bear the vast expertise of attorneys from across the firm to serve clients with a coordinated, multi- disciplinary approach,” Moche said.
