Gabriela Alvarez-Avila, former senior counsel to the World Bank Group’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, has joined the international arbitration group of New York’s Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle. Alvarez-Avila, who joins as counsel, will initially be based in the firm’s affiliate office in Mexico City. She focuses on arbitration, international law and investment law. During her seven years at ICSID, Alvarez-Avila administered arbitration cases as secretary of tribunals, hearing cases in Spanish, English and French. Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle has more than 200 lawyers in 11 worldwide offices.
