New York’s Sullivan & Cromwell has announced that six attorneys have been elected partners, effective January 1. Robert Chu is a corporate lawyer who heads the firm’s Beijing office. Chu, who has worked at the firm since 1999, has handled a range of mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions involving companies in the United States, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Carsten Berrar is a Frankfurt-based corporate lawyer who is a member of the German law practice group that advises on international public and private securities and mergers and acquisitions transactions. He joined the firm in 2000. Benjamin C. Perry, who is based in London, practices primarily English law and advises on corporate and finance transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, leveraged and project finance and capital markets. Perry joined the firm in 2000. Nicolas Bourtin is a litigator in New York who focuses on white-collar criminal defense and internal investigations, class action defense, and securities and complex civil litigation. He joined the firm in 1998, left in 2001 to join a U.S. attorney’s office and returned in 2005. Suhana S. Han, who is also in New York’s litigation group, focuses on commercial litigation, including securities, banking, contract, and employment disputes. She joined the firm in 2000. Tracy Richelle High, who joined the firm in 1999, specializes in representing financial institutions and other corporations in regulatory enforcement proceedings and corporate internal investigations. High, who is based in the firm’s New York office, has also represented those entities in civil litigation. Sullivan & Cromwell has nearly 700 lawyers in 12 worldwide offices.
