BOSTON — The Boston Bar Association’s Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law named Norma D’Apolito its new executive director. D’Apolito has more than twenty-five years of civil rights and higher education experience. Her past roles include associate dean at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York, and stints at the Legal Aid Society of New York and Greater Boston Legal Services. She was also a deputy attorney general in the litigation division of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office. “The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights has always played a vital role in protecting the civil and economic rights of Boston and Massachusetts citizens,” D’Apolito said. “I am extremely excited to be a part of its continuing efforts to challenge discrimination.” The committee also tapped two litigators as co-chairmen: Harvey J. Wolkoff, a partner at Boston’s Ropes & Gray and Daniel J. Gleason, a partner at Boston’s Nutter, McClennen & Fish.
