BRYAN CAVE Two associates have joined Bryan Cave’s D.C. litigation group. Both were summer associates at the firm. Peter Hawkins, 34, earned his J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law. George Murphy, 26, received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
COVINGTON & BURLING Karin Norton, 44, has joined Covington & Burling as special counsel in the firm’s D.C. intellectual property litigation group. She was most recently senior investigative attorney at the International Trade Commission. Norton earned her J.D. at Brooklyn Law School.
DEWEY & LEBOEUF Four partners have joined Dewey & LeBoeuf’s D.C. office. Robert Lorndale, 46, focuses on the federal income taxation of business transactions. He joins the firm from Ivins, Phillips & Barker, where he was a partner. Lorndale earned his J.D. at Golden Gate University School of Law. B. Donovan Picard, 63, focuses on international arbitration and litigation, and international law. He was previously chair of the international law and dispute resolution group at Hunton & Williams. Picard received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Edward Rowe, 40, focuses on international arbitration and litigation. He joins from Hunton & Williams, where he was a partner. Rowe received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. Lawrence Sung, 41, joins the intellectual property group. He was previously a partner at Nixon Peabody. Sung earned his J.D. at American University’s Washington College of Law.
EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS Sven Holmes, 56, has joined the board of directors at Equal Justice Works in D.C. He is also executive vice chairman at the accounting firm KPMG. Prior to that, Holmes was the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School.
GREENBERG TRAURIG Efren Hernandez, 39, has joined Greenberg Traurig as counsel in the firm’s Tysons Corner, Va., business immigration and compliance group. Hernandez joins the firm from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security, where he was director of business and trade. Hernandez earned his J.D. at the University of Chicago Law School.
HUNTON & WILLIAMS Ruth Kochenderfer, 38, has been promoted to counsel in Hunton & Williams’ McLean, Va., litigation practice. She focuses on insurance coverage issues. Kochenderfer was previously an associate. She earned her J.D. at the University of Texas School of Law.
JONES DAY Geoffrey Oliver, 49, will join Jones Day as a partner in the firm’s D.C. antitrust practice. He will start at the firm November 1. Oliver was most recently head of the Anticompetitive Practices Division of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition. He received his J.D. from Cornell Law School.
KATTEN MUCHIN ROSENMAN Bruce Casino, 54, has joined Katten Muchin Rosenman as a partner in the firm’s Washington white-collar practice. He joins the firm from Baker & Hostetler’s D.C. office, where he was a partner. Casino received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
SPRIGGS & HOLLINGSWORTH Two attorneys have joined Spriggs & Hollingsworth. Gregory Chernack, 36, joins as counsel in the pharmaceutical products group. Chernack was previously counsel at WilmerHale. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School. Chad Murchison, 32, joins as an associate in the firm’s insurance and toxic torts products liability groups. He was previously an associate at Howrey. Murchison received his J.D. at Boston University School of Law.
THOMPSON HINE Lynn Fox, 39, has joined Thompson Hine as counsel in the firm’s D.C. international trade and customs practice. She was most recently at WilmerHale, where she was counsel. Fox earned her J.D. at Stanford Law School.
TROUTMAN SANDERS Laura Begun, 28, has joined Troutman Sanders as an associate in the firm’s Tysons Corner, Va., complex litigation practice. Begun was previously a judicial law clerk for Judge Thomas Craven at the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Md. She received her J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law. — Marisa McQuilken
