An attorney for two of the Philadelphia lawyers who were sanctioned by a federal judge last week for delaying discovery in a class action suit said the ruling will have a chilling effect on attorneys who are trying to protect clients during discovery.

Drinker Biddle & Reath partner Lawrence J. Fox said his clients, Daniel B. Huyett and Jeffrey D. Bukowski of Stevens & Lee, were just doing their job as they represented Capital Blue Cross in Grider v. Keystone Health Plan Central.
