Medical test maker Ventana Medical Systems Inc. said on Aug. 17 a federal jury found it liable for $10.8 million in damages for infringing two of CytoLogix Corp.'s patents in a 2003 case. The 2003 ruling found that Ventana infringed two CytoLogix patents with its BenchMark drug discovery systems. The company no longer makes BenchMark.

Medical test maker Ventana Medical Systems Inc. said on Aug. 17 a federal jury found it liable for $10.8 million in damages for infringing two of CytoLogix Corp.’s patents in a 2003 case.
Jurors of a U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Massachusetts also found that Ventana is not liable for CytoLogix’s antitrust claims.
