Finally, some good news for embattled plaintiffs lawyer William Lerach: In a split ruling on Thursday, California’s 2nd District Court of Appeal restored an overtime class action brought by insurance claims adjusters represented by Lerach Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins.

The class initially was certified by one Los Angeles County Superior Court judge. But another judge partially decertified the class last October after reviewing California rules governing which employees are exempt from state overtime laws. There were about 1,600 class members at the time a class notice was issued, according to the defense firm.
