Nearly 91% of law school graduates from the class of 2006 landed jobs by Feb. 15, but just 14% were making $135,000 or more, according to NALP, a nonprofit group that tracks legal jobs. In addition, a full 42% of those graduates were earning $55,000, or less, and 71% of law graduates were working at law firms with 50 attorneys or fewer. Just 20% of graduates had jobs at firms with more than 100 lawyers. The information was based on graduates whose job status was known. Among those graduates, 75.3% obtained jobs for which bar passage was required. Just over 2% were pursuing advanced degrees, such as an LLM, NALP’s research showed.
