DEWEY BALLANTINE Jeffrey Frey, 67, has joined Dewey Ballantine’s D.C. office as counsel in the intellectual property litigation group. He comes to Dewey Ballantine from the D.C. office of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi where he was a staff attorney. Frey also served two years as a law clerk for Judge Randall Rader of the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. He has been an expert witness in patent litigation matters and patent infringement lawsuits and appeals. Additionally, he taught and conducted research in the design, fabrication, and operation of high-speed semiconductor devices and integrated circuits at Cornell University and the University of Maryland. Frey earned his J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center.
DICKSTEIN SHAPIRO Erin Sweeney, 42, has joined Dickstein Shapiro as counsel in the firm’s Employee Retirement Income Security Act practice. She previously worked as an ERISA specialist at the Department of Labor. Sweeney has also been counsel at Latham & Watkins and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, and was an associate at Arent Fox. She helped draft the Pension Protection Act of 2006 and has been an expert witness for the United States in several ERISA criminal matters. She earned her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law.
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA OFFICE OF THE CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER David Tseng, 48, has been appointed general counsel of the D.C. Office of the Chief Financial Officer. Tseng was previously the office’s associate general counsel for council legislative affairs and deputy associate general counsel for the D.C. Office of Tax and Revenue. He served as a White House senior policy adviser and staff director for the National Economic Council during the Clinton Administration. Tseng earned his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles.
FISH & RICHARDSON Two attorneys joined Fish & Richardson’s D.C. office as associates in the firm’s litigation group. Kori Anne Bagrowski, 28, was previously an associate at McDermott Will & Emery. She specializes in biotechnology at Fish & Richardson. Bagrowski earned her J.D. at the University of Toledo College of Law. Pyong Yoon, 44, focuses on electrical engineering at Fish & Richardson. Most recently, he was the attorney-adviser to Administrative Law Judge Paul Luckern of the U.S. International Trade Commission. Yoon was also previously an associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. He earned his J.D. from Temple University School of Law.
GREENBERG TRAURIG Stephen Bellotti, 37, has joined Greenberg Traurig’s D.C. office as a partner in the firm’s real estate practice. He was previously a partner at Arent Fox. Bellotti specializes in commercial real estate development and financing. He has represented local and national retail, office, residential, and hotel companies in development matters and construction financing, and has represented institutional investors in securitized financing transactions. Bellotti is a member of the District of Columbia Building and Industry Association, where he is on the Retail Committee and the Development Issues and Information Committee. Bellotti received his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law.
HOWREY Scott Hataway, 32, has joined Howrey as a partner in the firm’s antitrust practice group. He was an associate at Howrey before joining the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division as a trial attorney four years ago. At Justice, Hataway was lead attorney in eight merger investigations and was appointed to the Attorney General’s Immigration Review Task Force. During his first stint at Howrey, Hataway focused on a variety of industries, including online music licensing practices in conjunction with investigations of major record labels. Hataway received his law degree from Washington and Lee School of Law.
STEIN, SPERLING, BENNETT, DE JONG, DRISCOLL & GREENFEIG Brian Della Rocca, 33, has joined Rockville, Md.’s Stein, Sperling, Bennett, De Jong, Driscoll & Greenfeig as an associate. He comes to the firm from Pastemak & Fidis where he was also an associate. Della Rocca focuses on probate and estate planning, including family limited liability entities. He earned his J.D. from Catholic University, Columbus School of Law. — Marisa McQuilken
