Too decadent for Times Square Even if cleanliness is next to godliness, it’s not right that a church should have to bear with huge advertising signs for a bidet company that feature naked buttocks with smiley faces on them. So says the Reverend Neil Rhodes, pastor of the interdenominational Times Square Church in New York City. He asked a state court to block the cheeky displays going up on two sides of the Broadway building that houses his congregation. “You walk into a church building, you have naked bodies before your eyes, how are you going to close your eyes and seek God?” Rhodes asked in the New York Post. The judge agreed to temporarily block the billboard. Associated Press Good cop, bad cop Lights flashed atop his SUV and there appeared to be a police badge in his hand, but it was the man he tried to pull over who was the real police detective. Robert Lane, 25, was arrested on charges of criminal impersonation and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said. Lane tried to stop the off-duty New York City detective on a highway east of the city. The detective got suspicious when Lane identified himself as an officer and flashed a small police badge. The detective showed his own police ID and ordered Lane to pull over, then followed him when he didn’t and called in local police to arrest him. Associated Press
