Day Pitney announced on Monday a strategic alliance with Washington minority-owned boutique law firm Gray Haile. The two firms said the arrangement will help each expand its client base. The two-attorney Gray Haile also said the arrangement will provide the opportunity for its lawyers to work on larger and more complex transactions. The firm has traditionally worked on middle-market transactions for Fortune 500 and large private companies. “Having the ability to tap into the resources of a large, full-service law firm will allow us to go after larger transactions and significantly boost our ability to attract new work,” said Gray Haile’s Leander Gray. Day said the alliance will add depth to its mergers and acquisitions practice and give clients access to a larger group of minority lawyers. “Day Pitney is firmly committed to better reflecting the demographics of the companies we are serving,” said Day Pitney co-chairman James Sicilian. “We look forward to great success from bringing together these two groups of highly talented and diverse lawyers.” The regional Day Pitney, which has no official headquarters, has about 400 lawyers across nine offices from Boston to Washington.
