Labor and employment firm Littler Mendelson continued its rapid expansion Monday, announcing a merger with five-lawyer Portland firm Amburgey & Rubin. The addition gives Littler 42 offices across the country and more than 600 lawyers. In the Pacific Northwest, the firm already has offices in Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle. “Portland has experienced tremendous corporate growth and is emerging as a thriving business hub,” said Marko Mrkonich, Littler president, in a press release. “Our decision to merge was anchored in Littler’s continued desire to meet existing and prospective clients’ increasing needs in the area of employment and labor law on a national level, coupled with our esteem for A&R.” Already this year, Littler has merged with 46-lawyer Cleveland labor and employment firm Duvin, Cahn & Hutton and added two new offices in Connecticut. Founded in San Francisco, Littler has grown into a national firm over the years while maintaining its focus on employment and labor law. The firm added more than 40 lawyers last year as well as new offices in Kansas City, Orange County and Fayetteville, Ark.
