Alan R. Fedman joined Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal’s Washington office as of counsel, working extensively with the multi-disciplinary Indian Law and Tribal Representation Group. Fedman was the director of enforcement for the National Indian Gaming Commission, and for the past 15 years has directed a national staff responsible for regulating 400 Indian gaming operations. In addition to coordinating investigations with federal, state and tribal law enforcement agencies, he was responsible for protecting the gaming operations from criminal influence and coordinating the National Indian Gaming Commission’s regulatory compliance activities. Fedman also previously served on a U.S. Senate special committee on investigations looking into the federal government’s management of Indian-owned natural resources. “Tribes are experiencing unprecedented economic growth,” Fedman said. “And with that, the need for sophisticated legal representation is also growing. I look forward to serving those needs as part of the highly respected group at Sonnenschein.”
