At press time Barry Goldsmith , NASD’s executive vice president for enforcement, was set to join Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in mid-March. The firm announced that Goldsmith would join its Washington, D.C., office as a partner . . . In January, Kaye Scholer signed Stanley Pierre-Louis , the former senior vice president of legal affairs for the Recording Industry Association of America. He joined the firm’s New York office as cochair of its entertainment and media practice . . . Greenberg Traurig’s Houston office recently snagged a couple of reverse commuters. Edward Abels, Jr. , who is now of counsel, had been assistant counsel at Union Oil Company of California. John Meredith , now the office’s business director, was previously president and GC of Aspiring Youth of Houston, a nonprofit organization . . . Timothy Coleman jumped to Dewey Ballantine as a partner in the litigation department. He had been senior counsel to the deputy attorney general of the United States . . . Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro welcomed Carl Roude as of counsel in its real estate and global hospitality groups in Los Angeles. Roude had been general counsel for Mitsubishi Motors.
