EMERGING LEADERS FELLOWSHIP Georgetown University Law Center professor Kristin Henning was selected as a fellow for the United States — Southern Africa Center for Leadership and Public Values’ Emerging Leaders program for the 2006-2007 academic year. The program, sponsored by the Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy at Duke University and the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, annually chooses about 20 rising leaders from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors in southern Africa and the United States. Selections are based on each candidate’s leadership experience and potential. During her yearlong fellowship, Henning will remain in residence at the law center but will travel to South Africa for specialized training. She will be involved in a series of projects with other fellows, mentors, and coaches. Henning will explore topics such as ethics and accountability in public life, Western and African paradigms of leadership, and strategies for personal renewal. She teaches a two-semester, 14-credit-hour clinic, which provides legal representation to adolescents charged with crimes.
