FOLEY & LARDNER Mark Mansour has joined Foley & Lardner as a partner in its regulatory and public affairs departments. Prior to joining Foley, Mansour, 48, was a partner at Morgan Lewis. He also previously served as assistant general counsel and director of global regulatory affairs with the Kellogg Co., where he led the development and implementation of the company’s global regulatory strategy. Mansour’s practice focuses on national and international food and drug regulation, as well as regulatory and public policy issues relating to nutrition, food additives, pharmaceuticals, agribusiness, biotechnology, “biopharming,” nanotechnology, chemicals, and other consumer products. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
KENYON & KENYON Kenyon & Kenyon has promoted seven attorneys to partner. Jeffrey Gerchick, 33, has practiced intellectual property law since 1997, with an emphasis on patent litigation. He earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. Fred Grasso, 39, focuses on patent procurement, counseling, and litigation. He received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. Azeen Roohi James, 36, focuses on patent litigation, with an emphasis on chemical, pharmaceutical, and biological disputes. Her practice also includes counseling clients on patent validity, enforceability and infringement issues, and patent application prosecution. She earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law. Teresa Lavenue, 41, practices patent law with an emphasis on patent prosecution. She earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. Susan Smith, 40, focuses on intellectual property litigation, trademark prosecution, and related counseling. She received her J.D. from Washington University School of Law. Cy Walker, 44, focuses primarily on patent infringement litigation. His cases have focused on medical devices, automotive trains, commercial printing press systems, and paper manufacturing processes. In addition to his litigation practice, Walker advises clients in licensing and settlement negotiations, and in procuring patent, copyright, and trademark protection. He received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. David Wallace, 37, focuses on patent procurement, counseling, licensing, and due diligence. He earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
LATHAM & WATKINS Four associates at Latham & Watkins have been elevated to partner. Scott Ballenger, 34, practices appellate litigation, including appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court, and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Abid Qureshi, 34, practices litigation with a focus on representing clients in qui tam proceedings and government fraud investigations with a focus on the healthcare industry. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School. Paul Sheridan Jr., 34, practices corporate law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, joint ventures, and public and private securities offerings. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Jennifer Van Driesen, 36, practices finance law with a focus on secured lending and other financing transactions, including cash-flow and asset-based loans, mezzanine and other subordinated debt facilities, and construction loans. She earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
SALLIE MAE INC. Poorvie Parkhie, 28, has joined the legal department of Sallie Mae as assistant general counsel, focusing on corporate finance and securities law. She previously served as an associate at Arent Fox. She earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law.
STINSON MORRISON HECKER Dennis Lane, 57, has joined Stinson Morrison Hecker’s energy and telecommunications division. He will focus on appellate litigation, energy regulatory matters, and copyright law. Lane rejoins the firm after working the past five years as solicitor of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, where he was responsible for representing the agency in all court appeals. Lane earned his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
WICKWIRE GAVIN James Coleman and Steven Koprince have joined Wickwire Gavin’s Tysons Corner, Va., office as associates. Coleman, 44, devotes his practice to construction law, and has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Prior to becoming an attorney, he managed public and private office, urban residential, and institutional projects. Coleman received his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law. Koprince, 28, focuses on government contracts, construction litigation, and surety law. He earned his J.D. from William & Mary School of Law.
WILLCOX & SAVAGE Willcox & Savage has elected two new partners. Henry Huelsberg III, 32, practices in the corporate, securities, and finance section and focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing, and securities law. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Gregory Lydon, 35, practices in the commercial real estate section and focuses on acquisitions and development.
