DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE The Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section of the Criminal Division has added six trial attorneys: Eileen Gleason, 57, previously was the principal assistant chief in the Environmental Crimes Section in the DOJ’s Environmental and Natural Resources Division and an assistant U.S. attorney in New Orleans. She earned her J.D. at Loyola School of Law. Ann Brickley, 30, most recently was an assistant attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel for the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection in the Department of Homeland Security. She also served as a special assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of New York. Brickley received her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. Kendall Day was a trial attorney with the Criminal Enforcement Section of the Tax Division. Day, 27, received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. John Pearson, Erin Aslan, and Michael Ferrara joined the section through the attorney general’s Honors Program. Pearson, 28, received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Aslan, 31, earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law. Ferrara, 29, received his J.D. from Stanford University Law School.
EDELMAN Charles Bakaly has joined Edelman as senior counselor and leads the communications practice. He has held many posts in Washington, most notably as counselor and spokesman for former independent counsel Kenneth Starr during the Whitewater investigation. Before joining Edelman, he was a litigator with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he specialized in complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense. Bakaly, 50, earned his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law.
MILBANK Debra Alligood White, 45, has been named partner in Milbank’s strategic sourcing and technology group. White, who was previously an associate, focuses on outsourcing transactions and, specifically, offshore technology and business process outsourcing. She received her J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law.
NATIONAL SCHOOL BOARDS ASSOCIATION Francisco Negr�n Jr., 41, has been selected as the National School Boards Association’s new associate executive director and general counsel. Negr�n will lead the NSBA’s 3,000-member Council of School Attorneys, as well as oversee corporate legal work. Negr�n most recently served as the general counsel for the State Education Office of the District of Columbia, where he was responsible for all legal matters involving corporate counsel, employment, education law, and risk-management issues. He received his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law.
WOMBLE CARLYLE SANDRIDGE & RICE Grace Kim, 25, has joined Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice’s corporate and securities practice group as an associate in the Tysons Corner, Va., office. She received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. — Nathan Carlile
